I'm Sophie, a freelance Surface Pattern Designer. I have a passion for conversational, playful and colourful textiles. Through illustration, paper craft and photography, I aim to story-tell and generate feel-good and 'happy' designs!
The Glasgow School of Art
I studied BA (Hons) Textile Design at The Glasgow School of Art from 2017-2021 and happily graduated with a first-class degree. During my last two years at University I specialised in Embroidery and combined this with Digital Print to create my graduate collection, 'I Spy'.

I began to sell illustrations during the first summer lockdown of 2020. At first I saw this as a little hobby to keep me busy, however after graduating and expanding my stock, I realised how happy creating, developing and selling my own work makes me!
Favourite Studio Tools
Although I enjoy digital drawing, paper collage remains my favourite way of working! I love the textures that I can create through painting up papers and adding detail with pastels and hand drawing. I enjoy the control I have over shape and scale with scissors and glue. I particularly enjoy making tiny collages which is how my 'Meet Bella' project began.
Creative Experience
As well as studying Textiles I've been lucky enough to experience many amazing creative events and opportunities. These include interning for H&M, Hallmark, Jenny-King Embroidery and Curve Fashion Festival as well as being Creative Director of Edinburgh's Charity Fashion Show 2020 and By Rebecca Jewellery's Marketing & Social Media Assistant
